Wow it's been a while! I'm pretty lame I know. Lots has happened!

Well great news for those who haven't heard yet....We bought a house. It has been such a long journey that I don't even want to explain all of the trouble and craziness we had to go through. Here's a few hints...short sale (4 mo.), 1st realtor & broker fell through, got a new broker 1 week before closing (stressful), and lots more stressful things along the way. Thanks to Tracy Conklin (realtor) & Jennifer Conklin @ Guild Mortgage we were able to get this house in the end!

I will say I'm not a fan of the process but I am so thrilled to be in my own house! Yipee! It is a great house too. We don't have to fix anything up really. Our first step will be to put tile in the bathroom...who wants carpet in the bathroom? The house is only 2 yrs old, 3 bdrm 21/2 bath, 1651 sqft. Not a CBH by the way! It has lots of space for us, it's a great neighborhood and ward. Whoop Whoop! I can't tell you how happy we are to have the stress gone and a place to live!

Girls Night Out

Well I'm a little late posting about the holidays so I'm

skipping it for now but I will catch up!

My visiting teachers had the idea that every month we

should get together (w/ all whom they visit) and have a

brunch. So yesterday we

Went to Zandra's (on the far right) and had an amazing morning.

She had the table all set formally with a printed out

summary of the message for the month.

I always look forward to getting together with them!

Another thing I do every month is get together with my girlfriends!

We call it GNO, our girls night out.

This month we went to Artist For A Day

It's where you get to pick your ceramic item and paint it up.

I'll have to post a pic of our final products when we get them.

And it was Kami's 24th B-Day!

We had such a fun time and I recommend going to one of these places if

you haven't already, and doing something once a month with your girls...

it's really a therapy session as we laugh out all of our stresses.

Ugly Sweater Party

Last night we went to an Ugly Sweater Party at

Jake & Candice's house.

It was a lot of fun to see all of the ugly sweaters people could find.

I had a struggle to find something good and I didn't want to go out and buy one.

I called up my parents to see if they had anything ancient we could use and found nothing.

My mom had the idea to call up my grandma. Obviously I wasn't going to tell her it was an "Ugly" sweater party so I just told her we were

having a sweater party(which isn't a lie) and she agreed

that she would have something I could use. I felt bad deceiving her.

When I got there she had a lot of her "Holiday Sweaters" (as she called them)

laid out for me to choose. I got her to let me take a few(because Todd needed one), under 1 condition...she told me "well these are my holiday sweaters so I wear them during the holidays...when can you have them back?" This made me giggle inside because she still wears them. For any of you that knows my funny grandma

just picture her in these. She is so funny.

I just started my new job at

It has been great so far and I love all of the people I work with.

It is really hard to not go shopping on down time

Happy Birthday Jackson

Saturday was my nephew Jackson's 2nd B-day along

with my niece's Baptism(no pics).

Jackson was so excited opening his presents!

He had a lot of hot wheels and each one he was equally excited about like

it was something he hadn't seen before. I love two year olds!

I love riding my bike to school.

I am really close to the greenbelt and it takes about 15 minutes

to ride to BSU. Plus I don't have to drive around for 15 min finding a parking

spot in some neighborhood and walk another 10 min to class. & I save on gas-Hello!

The greenbelt takes me right to campus and I can ride right up to my class, lock up, and

go in!! It is getting fairly cold in the mornings so I have to bundle up already.

I'm going to try to ride as much as possible before it's too cold to handle.

The greenbelt is so pretty right now riding next to the river.

It is very calming and it's good for me to get the bike exercise a few times a week.

P90X

Has anyone tried this workout?

It's a killer. We borrowed it from my sister-in-law and love it.

It has a bunch of different dvd's and yesterday I did Ab Ripper X and I couldn't

even get out of bed this morning because my stomach hurt so bad today.

They need a warning on that thing. Well I probably just didn't read it.

Pico de Gallo

My mom told me yesterday that she made some pico de gallo just like Baja Fresh's.

I wanted to try it because we haven't been getting a lot of veggies

in our diet and it's a great snack.

It's delicious!

To try it:

1 1/2 lbs -Plumb Tomatoes (about 6 medium)
3/4 cup -White Onion
1/2 cup -Cilantro
1 Tbs. -Lime (about 1/2 a lime) This makes it so yummy!
1 tsp -Garlic
1/2 tsp -Salt
1/2 tsp -Cayenne Pepper (optional)

Emmett's Most Excellent Triathlon

It was a long night before the race. Todd and I probably got 3 hours of sleep, we just

couldn't sleep and we had to wake up @ 4:45!

By the time we got to Emmett the nerves were

kicking in and I wasn't tired anymore.

No one saw me get out of the water so no pics there.

He was feeling a little sick after the 25 mile

ride and he ran out of water!

They didn't have much relief

on the bike course for him either. But he kept going

on to the 6.2 miles he had to run next!

It was such a great feeling to finish!

I took 4th in my age group.

June 30th

I can't believe it has been a year! I used to think that a year was a long time and yet

here we are already!

We didn't have a lot of time to do much so we hung around all afternoon

and went swimming. We went to eat at Smoky Mountain Pizza (I work there, yumm!). I had to work that night and Todd had to go to school.

What a day of Celebration huh?

It has been a great year of getting to know

each other. I couldn't be more happy with my husband.

He is:

loving
handsome
motivating
determined
easy going
kind
a priesthood holder
has great taste
family oriented

Todd is such a great person and I see that more and more everyday.

When I look around at people I work with and other relationships in the world

I think how good I have it. My husband is in no way abusive, or uses me, or

uses profanity, or those other awful things. He is an angel compared

to the things going on in this world. I hope I can be a better wife

for him and learn from his good examples.

I'm grateful for Todd and that we will be together forever!

I have been very behind on my blogging! Here are a few updates with what has been going on with us.

We have been spending a lot of time with family. Above is Todd with cute little Claire Bear that looks like Pebbles with her little pig-tail and big blue eyes! We have moved downtown recently so we get to see her and Lincoln a lot more.

Finally we got to meet Tyler! Todd's brother Greg and his fun family came into town and we got to see our nephew for the 1st time!

We went to Merrill Park so the kids could play in the splash park and we had a picnic. It was a HOT day. Here are the Boys. (Dad, Greg, Tyler, Todd)

On the 4th of July I worked and then met up with Todd's side of the fam at Jeff's house for a BBQ and some fireworks. All of the kids lined up for Greg to light their sparklers.

More Family Parties.

At my parents house we played some fun games. Above Brooklyn is finishing up our

game of Sculptionary(sp?) It's Pictionary but you sculpt it out of playdough!

It is really fun! You sculpt simple things like "Button, shovel, pizza" but it's

tougher than it seems!

The other game we had going on was Lasso Golf. There are a lot of names for

this game but it is really fun. This is my grandma taking a shot at it.

You throw the rope with golf balls knotted on each end and try

to lasso it to the poles for points. It is a very addicting game-go get it!!

Janet Clarkson Memeorial Triathlon

Last Thursday we headed out to West Yellowstone with my family to set up camp. Friday we drove through the park and saw lots of buffalo, some elk, bald eagles, and pretty scenery.

Below is one of the many geysers that we saw. We also went to Old Faithful and it wasn't very faithful. Usually it will go off every hour but it went off about 10 minutes late!

Saturday morning I woke up about 6:30 and the race began @ 10:00. Todd got a little more sleep than I did-I can't sleep in when I camp.

We started to get my wetsuit on about 20 minutes before the race. It was closing in on starting time and I was feeling the nerves begin because I don't like to be rushed. Also they announced that the race was 1000 meters (I haven't swam that far yet!). I knew that the race was .65 of a mile but a 1000 meters was a little different because in a pool I've swam 800 meters at most. I took a dip in the water to feel the cold rush on m body. It was a good temp. of 59* that morning, which was 4* higher than last year. Mike and I got in a photo before our start in our HOT outfits!

And we're off...

You can see that the water was pretty and still. Right when I started to get into the rhythm of the free-style I got some bad anxiety when my head would go into the water. I had to start doing the breast-stroke for a while. Before the race I expected to swim in about 35 min so that I wouldn't rush myself and I finished in 29 minutes! I handed my timer to my Dad for the bike and he was off.

(Mike was 3rd out of the water! in 18 min)

He had a good bike ride and he looked good in his new shirt we all got him for Father's day!

Todd finished at a dead sprint! It was very warm for the bike and the run and it

was at a higher altitude. They did a great job.

After a while Todd and I went over to hear all of the rewards.

Right when we walked up we heard Mike's name and I went up to get his for him (he didn't want to get his metal-he's too humble and doesn't like all the hype)

Mike got 1st place in his age division and he finished 4th overall!

Surprisingly we got one!! We received 3rd place metals for the relay!

Here's the whole gang.

I'm glad that we did this race and got a feel for what it's like. We are looking forward

to our next race in August!

~Let the Races Begin~

This month is full of Triathlon's for Todd and I. Last Sunday morning we volunteered for the Boise 70.3 Ironman. We have been watching the ironman world championships in Hawaii on dvd and it was very motivating so we thought it would be a great idea to take the opportunity to be there for the half Ironman.
We woke up that morning @ 3:30! We volunteered at the T1 (transition 1 from swim to bike). The swim start was up at Lucky Peak and it was very chilly that morning. We were doing security and the official security guy loaned me his nice big jacket to keep warm. The swim start is behind me.
The water that morning was terribly choppy and I can't imagine swimming 1.2 miles in it! There was only one guy we saw that had to get medical attention because he was hypothermic. It was a tough race and a long morning for us. Todd helped spot out Kate Majors who has finished 3 in the wold championships and this year she took 1st place in the Boise 70.3. That's nothing for her!
70.3 Viking Man
Another cold day for a triathlon. Yesterday My sister-in-law Annette did the 70.3 in Burley. We traveled over early just in time to get there to see her come out of the water. The swim for this one was in a river which is supposed to be down stream but the wind that day was so strong that the current was moving UPSTREAM! No joke. She made it through and coming out strong and cold!
Sweet Victory! She was so excited to be done. That is a great accomplishment to have done a half ironman! I hope to do that one day. Right now I'm just concentrating on my Sprint Triathlon which is probably a 1/4 of what she did! She was welcomed by her cute kids. Great job Annette, that was very impressive!

Up-coming Events~
June 21st-Janet Clarkson Memorial Triathlon
This is a relay tri that we are doing. I'm doing the .65 mile swim (it's going to be a cold one), my Dad is doing the 13.1 mile bike, and Todd is doing the 4.2 mile run. My Dad wanted to do the bike and we all thought that it would be fun to go on a camping trip to Yellowstone and do the relay.
August 9th-Emmett's Most Excellent
This is the real deal. I'm actually doing the Sprint and Todd will be doing the Olympic distance.

I'm very excited to do my triathlon. I almost have anxiety because I just want to get out there and do it right now. I love to swim, bike, and run now and I didn't really before. I have learned a lot training and watching others in their races. It's all a mind game really. Our body's can do more than we think. My new Moto is "I Can Do Hard Things" and it has really kept me going. Sara Reinertson has given me a lot of my modivation. Watch this video.

Busy Week!

Todd & I went and had some fun hitting golf balls at a range. I have a lot to work on to get back into the swing of things.

Wednesday we had the pleasure of babysitting little Lincoln while Jeff and Annette were out of town.
We took him to the park even though it was a little chilly. He had a lot of fun with his uncle Todd!

Girls Night was that Wednesday night. Only a few of us could make it so we ate at Smoky Mountain Pizza. I tried something new and was so disappointed! I hate when I do that.
After dinner we went to see Kami and Landon. To my surprise they had an early birthday cake there for me! I got to blow out all 23 candles! I haven't done that in a while it was fun!

~Birthday~
The morning of my birthday Todd was so nice to make me breakfast (french toast-my fav.). We then went to a bunch of garage sales! Bridge Tower subdivision had a huge community sale. We got a few new golf bags (as you can see above I needed a new one!) for $15 and we got our moneys worth. Last night Todd got the bag out of the car and felt that it was heavy. He looked in it and found a bunch of quarters and a few $1 bills! We felt bad because there is no way that we would know where to return that money to because we hit so many places. It was sad but exciting at the same time. We were blessed in a way! Tithing pays off.

That night we met up with friends and went to a Burn game. It was fun to be so close but it's so small! I personally thing that arena football is a joke but it is entertaining. We had some great seats and the cool part is that if a football comes into the stands you get to keep it! Todd was able to make an amazing catch right over a bunch of people trying for the same ball. So we got a souvenir for my birthday!
It was a great day. I don't feel any older like I used to when I was little. I could get used to doing whatever I wanted because it was my birthday though. Todd made it a fun day for me-Thanks honey!

Landon Seamons has arrived May 18th-7lbs 1oz. Everything went well with the delivery. He was 8 days over his due date so she was very happy to have him come.
Kami looks so good! It was fun to get to hold the little guy in my arms. I can't wait till it's my turn some day.

The Job Hunt is Brutal

I must say job hunting has changed a bit. You think that you can just go into a business that you want to work at and apply. Everything is online now days and this means that the hundreds of people in your area, that are out of jobs as well, are applying in the same places! I don't like online applications because they just see what's on paper and can't really get to know you and see who you are in person.
It seems that there are no jobs out there. I have probably gone through 15 interviews lately and nothing is turning up. Every time I leave a feel good about the interview and think that I've nailed it. I know going through all of this that the Lord has other things in store for me so I am just waiting until that comes around.

So if any of you locals know of anyone hiring let me know! I have bookkeeping, assistant, and restaurant experience. At this point I don't really care what it is. I'm getting too relaxed at home and I won't want to go back to work after long!!

Todd was very excited to hear that they were playing their next softball game at Storey Park at night time. It was great weather Tuesday night too. It brought me back to when I used to lifeguard right next to it @ Meridian Pool. Good times there!
Todd was showing off and hit an out of park Home Run! This is the picture of that hit. I was so excited to see him hit that home run. This is pretty much my excitement lately-going to the park and watching Todd's games. I love it!

Cinco De Mayo!

I love all of the time I have now that I don't have a job. I was able to pretend to be a stay at home mom, like all of my wonderful friends, and take the kids to the park. We had a light picnic lunch and then went for a walk along the river. I love it down there so much I can't get enough. And my dear Kami, we are crossing our fingers that Landon comes on his due date (May 10th). It was a great afternoon. It just makes me more excited to be a stay at home mom one day.

On the road again

Friday-The weather was so nice we couldn't resist going for a bike ride. It is so pretty to ride along side of the Boise River and we found a perfect spot to rest before we headed back. I was very surprised to see a deer right beside the path. We scared it and it ran right in front of us and by the time I got the camera out he was a little far away.

Saturday-The weather was going to be perfect again and we wanted to take advantage of this. I invited my parents to come along and then we thought why not the rest of the family so it became a fun trip down the greenbelt! It was so much fun to go as a family and have the kids there too. We stopped at Ann Morisson Park and some were brave enough to dip their feet in the cold river! We had a fun eventful weekend!

Play Ball!

Todd is playing softball this spring with my brother Chad's team. I went to the second game last Thursday. It was a little chilly out but I still had fun.
I was very impressed with Todd's skills with the bat. I have never seen him play before but I've heard a lot of talk about him playing ball when he was younger. He definitely lived up to my expectations. The whole team really works well together. They ended up winning the game 21 to 10 (or something crazy like that).

All of my brother's kids came too. Gigi loves to play with the camera and get her picture taken. I thought this was such a funny photo of her in action with her adorable hat on. I just had to put it on here!

Girl's Night Out has been such a fun experience for all of us. We got together on Wednesday night and made a cute craft. My sister Heather made this really cute plate and we decided to go with it. Thanks to Holly who planned everything we were able to do it!

My final product. I must say that mine didn't turn out as cute as yours Heather. It was really fun to get together and just laugh! Andra-you make me laugh so hard I can't even talk. I am looking forward to next G.N.O.!

Friday afternoon Todd left for another Scout camp adventure. While he was away one of our friends, Katie Hone, called to say that everyone was getting together at her house. I decided to pop on over even though I was husband-less. It ended up with all of us girls talking and watching the Miss USA pageant. (I was sad that Mississippi didn't win.) The boys were outside by the fire for most of the night talking-so I wouldn't have seen Todd anyways. I had such a fun time lounging around, eating munchies and catching up. I'm so glad that Todd has such a great group of friends and I can't wait for more fun times this summer!

Friday night Todd thought that it would be a fun idea to have the older nephews over for a sleep-over. They loved that idea. Christopher kept asking his mom to call Todd and double check that they were going to be coming over that night. Todd picked up Issac and Christopher to go and rent a movie and pick out some ice-cream. We ate our yummy ice-cream and watched Eragon. I don't suggest this movie at all. I was even laughing out loud in spots because it was so cheesy and bad. The boys loved it so that's all that matters.
It's a tradition for those who come over to take funny pictures on our computer. The boys were laughing hysterically at the funny ways the camera effects were making them look.
We had so much fun that night. I don't ever remember doing things like that when I was young so I hope that this will be a great memory for them.

My cute niece (in-law) Addie turned 3 yesterday! We were able to celebrate with her because the family is visiting for a week! Also her cousins were are in town this week too. She got to pick out her very own birthday cake design-she chose the carrousel.
But the only thing she wanted for her birthday was Starbursts.
So all of the cousins had a Starburst hunt in the backyard. They had a blast seeing who could get the most. We finally got a good picture of Claire Bear smiling. She is a really calm and fun baby that smiles all the time! I don't get to see my in-law's very much so I'm glad that my sisters are in town visiting and I'm grateful for my adorable nieces & nephews!

Easter Fun

Easter Morning Todd and I woke up and went to the park. I have been asking to go to the park for a while because I just love it downtown so much. So we went to feed the birds. The seagulls were going crazy and the geese were getting mad. We were getting surrounded by them and I had to jump into the back seat of the car because they were going to get me ;-)

After church we went over to Mom & Dad's to have a little Easter Egg hunt with Chad & Andee's kids. They were the only kids able to come that day but it was a blast watching them look for the eggs that were in plain view all over the back yard. (In the picture Gigi-Maija-Rocco) These kids were so funny when we tried to read an Easter story together Rocco got hurt and started crying then Maija got hurt second and was crying and Gigi started walking around and we were just waiting for something to happen. Even though we couldn't hear the story it was fun to be with the family on Easter!

Ride it!

My very own-1st bike ever! This weekend Todd and I headed to the bike shop to take a look at some bikes for me to use for the triathlon. We found one that was a great fit and took it home! This morning I finally got to use it. Our church is at 3:00 so we had the whole morning to go for a ride. We went down by Hawks stadium and hopped on the greenbelt all the way to Ann Morrison park downtown and then back. I think it was around 10 miles round trip and I was able to keep up! It was so peaceful and pretty out today I loved it. I love my bike and I'm excited to go on more bike-rides as the weather permits!

McKai Chase Porter

Last weekend we finally got to meet McKai! My family drove over to Pocatello to go to the baby blessing. It was so much fun to see Mike, Amber, Caiden, & McKai. Caiden is such a smart little boy! It's amazing how fast they grow when you aren't able to see them regularly. We had lots of fun staying up late and playing card games (Squeak of course!!) Mike and I were able to go swimming and he helped me out in my prep for the triathlon. It was a good weekend gettaway!

Poor Todd!

Todd had a little accident yesterday. He was riding his bike to the gym and in a hurry lost his grip on his peddle and got a pretty deep cut on his ankle. We tried to stop the bleeding at home and wrap it up but that wasn't enough. It kept bleeding all the way to the BSU basketball game we were heading to. The constant bleeding lasted about 3 hours! As we were walking it was still bleeding and we were right by the Rec Center and I told Todd let's get someone to help us in there. After talking with the sports med people they suggested that he get some stitches.

Off we went. Luckily Annette, our sis-in-law, was working that night and was able to get us in the door at the hospital. We were very lucky that she was able to hook us up with a doctor because that bill would have been ridiculous other wise! We are grateful it wasn't worse!

I was in 7th grade wearing JNCO jeans thinking I was cool in baggy pants(yuck). That year I was in long distance and long jump(what were they thinking?)in track at school and that's the final year I did that. I would also hang out with my best friend Mary Schultz all the time, we couldn't be separated!

Well I am trying to watch my diet and so there's not much that I enjoy eating but here's a few:
-Pumpkin seeds, dried cranberries, walnuts (it's a good combo & healthy)
-ironically someone just handed me a little brownie at work and I'm going to eat that right now! ;-)
-Yogurt & granola
-I always enjoy chocolate!

4. What would I do if I were to suddenly be a Billionaire?
I would scream & leap for joy. Quit working forever! Then we would pay off school, my car, & any other bills. Buy new clothes, cars & go and get messages after a long day of shopping. Then I would get the plans started for my parents to build us our dream home! Then we would travel Europe. And then travel some more. Invest a lot of it, start our own business, donate some and maybe start a homeless center. And I would give a chunk to family members to help them out as well. Oh wouldn't that be nice!
And start having kids and lots of them!

Temp Jobs-Gotta Love Em!

I am temporarily working at NxEdge. This is my last week here. I am the receptionist and answer the phones and do a bunch of data entry for them. The people are very friendly and professional here-unlike my last job that laid me off over the phone!
My first few days it was REALLY hard to get the name down when answering the phones. Their name is pronounced almost like NextEdge not N-X-Edge. When I answer the phone I am supposed to say "Thank you for calling NxEdge this is Kim" A few times if I was caught off guard and the phone rang I have accidentally said "Thank you for calling NEXTEL" because that is the closest relation that I have to their name! It was really funny. The lady just laughed at me and it's a good thing her husband worked here and it wasn't a business contact. I have slipped up a few times and I can't help but to just laugh about it!
I am currently searching for a job. I had 2 interviews last week. I am applying for an administrative assistant at a great accounting firm downtown. I am in the process of "interviewing" with them. I have briefly talked with someone over the phone and she had me do some online program testing and THEN I will get a personal interview. It went really well so keep your fingers crossed because that's the job I want! So it's coming along and I will hear from them soon.

As for Todd-he is studying to become a personal trainer. I just had to put this picture on here because I think it's hilarious. Don't worry I'm pretty sure that I won't let Todd look like that!(that's gross) Hopefully by the end of March he will be certified and be able to work for a gym in town. He would love to get away from the O.G. as soon as he can. Todd will be such a great trainer. He works really well with people and knows how to have a good time. I'm excited for him. He is actually trianing us both right now for a triathlon in August. I'm not sure how he convinced me to do it with him but he did! I'm actually doing the Sprint Triathlon. It will force me to get into great shape. I'm excited for it though, it will be a rush.

V-Day

I know that Valentine's Day has long ago been over with but I forgot to post something about it! First of all Todd had to work on that night and so we celebrated the night before. He surprised me by taking me to Kyoto's where they cook your meal in front of you. We have been wanting to go there for a while and never did. I was excited because I hadn't been there since I was a little girl. It's entertaining to watch them cook your food and do all of those cool moves with their cooking utensils. Near the end the guy cooked up the shrimp and flipped it up into our mouths-no one at our table caught the shrimp-and mine hit my lip! We had a good time. I am disapointed that I forgot my camera though!
We got home and Todd had surprised me with a little gift. We didn't really think about getting gifts because of his big birthday present the week before! He got me a tanning package because I have been complaining about how white I am. I truely am the whitest I've ever been in my life and I hate it. I used to be a lifeguard and I was always tan. I'm not the biggest fan of tanning but at this point I don't really care. So I am ready to be a normal color after the long drawn out winter months. Later that night we went to Todd's indoor soccer game. I can't remember if they won or not-I'm sure they did! Overall we had a great first V-Day together.

Todd's Birthday was Feb. 6th. Todd had to wake up early to go to school so I woke up with him and helped him get some things ready for his day.
I had a few small presents to give to him in the morning to start his Birthday off right. He got this fun rotating tie rack that is so nice to use. I still needed to do some last minute shopping for him so as he headed out the door so did I. I found just what he wanted. Todd has been asking for this for a long while and I thought it was about time.

A new TV! I saw it a few weeks earlier and almost bought it then but they were out of stock. It had been growing on me for a while and I just had to have it. If you have been to our apt. you would know that we had a tiny 20" tv that you could hardly see and it wasn't a great picture. We upgraded to a 32" Vizio. I thought it was time for Todd to get his wish. He was so surprised!!

Todd's parents treated us to a nice dinner @ Carinos. Then Todd headed off to Scouts for a few hours.

I went and rented a movie for us to watch on our new tv. I decided to get Ladder 49 because Todd hadn't seen it yet and I remember it was really good. It is kind of depressing but I have more respect for firefighters after watching it, and I'm glad that I'm not married to one. We ended the night by watching the movie as Todd received a bunch of "Happy Birthday" phone calls. It was a fun day.

Snow Snow Go Away!

Every morning I wake up and open the window to look at what the day brings. Lately it's been a lot of snow! I love snow up until Christmas and then I would love for it to be summer! It has been snowing here so much lately and too many people are getting into accidents. There is a very sad story that just happened last night. A 9 month old pregnant woman died in a head on collision with a Semi-truck. The baby was delivered in the hospital and thankfully survived the accident. The sad thing is that she had 6 other kids at home. The family is in my sister's ward boundaries but they aren't LDS and we are going to try to help them out. Let's pray for them! Girls Night Out

I love hanging out with the girls. My good friends have stuck together since high school. We have made it a tradition now to get together once a month and get out of the house! I have found that getting out with my girlfriends is very rewarding and even a stress reliever!

Christmas time 2007 we got together at Holly's house. We played games and had a gift card exchange and somehow we all ended up with what we wanted!

Recently we went out to eat at the Old Spaghetti Factory downtown Boise. It was the worst service I have ever had. The waiter was hating life because he didn't smile or say "Hello" he just asked us "what are you having?" and didn't really say much more, he flopped our extra bread right on the table and walked away without fixing it, Holly asked for tomatoes on her pasta and gave her marinara instead, and when we were leaving he accused us of not paying for one meal when it was sitting there on the table for him! I wouldn't recommend it, but Holly and I still had fun laughing it up with our pregnant friends. Andra, in pink, is due Feb 16th and Kami, in yellow, is due May 10th. I'm so excited for them!

Just last weekend we had a Baby Shower for Andra. It was fun to see all of the cute things that she got for her baby girl.

Holly's (on the right) parents own a Bowling Ally. That girls night we had all of the lanes and music to ourselves. That was so much fun to bowl the night away and just be ourselves...a bunch of dorks that is!

2 Wrecks in 2 Days!

That's right I've been in two "fender benders" in 2 days.
Two days ago it was snowing really bad and the roads were very slick. I tried to stop at a stop light and pumped my breaks and kept sliding. I was getting way too close to the car ahead of me and couldn't do anything about it. I honked at the last minute hoping they would magically move out of my way. Well that didn't happen and I barely tapped her car. It bent up my hood a little and left line of scuffed up paint on bumper. It ended up being a nice older lady who didn't care to take my insurance information because it didn't do anything to her car (luckily). So it ended up OK.
Then yesterday...I was going to the post office for work and was about to back up and BAM! A guy backed into me while he was on his cell phone of course! I got out and looked at my back bumper and didn't see any marks. I couldn't believe what just happened though. The guy got out of his car and never got off of his cell phone though. We ended up calling it good and nothing happened once again.
I am so lucky that nothing worse happened. I don't think anyone can beat that record!

Scentsy

As many of you probably know already I started up my own business with Scentsy. I'm obsessed with it already! I am very excited to be a Scentsy consultant and have a job that is a party! Todd and I discussed the possibility of me starting a business like this for some extra income. We decided that it would be a great idea especially since Todd is taking 19 credits this semester. Live Nativity

About a week ago my mom found a live nativity in Eagle to go to. So we rounded up who we could and met down there. It was a very chilly night but it was all worth it.
Here is all of us who came. Grandma, Vaughn, Jackson, Heather, Brooklyn, Todd, me, Dad, Alan, Mom & Liz.

The first thing you do is go through these amazing houses to a part of the land they alloted for parking. Then they took us on a little hay ride to the beginning of the nativity tour. There were around four different stops. They had little kids or teenagers as the actors and you could tell that they were frozen and and didn't care anymore. It was funny.
They even had live animals that the kids could pet. I was one of those kids!
The last stop was visiting baby Jesus. It was a neat experience.
Todd loved to hold little Jackson. He looks very cute all bundled up. He reminded Todd of the kid on "The Christmas Story" who couldn't put his arms down because he had too many layers on.

Todd & I were getting warm by the fire at the end. We had a lot of fun at the Live Nativity. I had never been to one before and I certainly recommend it.

Our First Christmas Tree!

This is our 1st Christmas as a married couple! We had a lot of fun decorating the tree. It was pretty easy with a pre-lit tree. As you can see we need to get a jump on the rest of our Christmas shopping.

I feel like a little kid this year that can't wait for Christmas to come. It seems a lot more meaningful this year. It will be exciting to share our first Christmas together.

Gigi's 1st Birthday!

Dec. 5th was my niece Gigi's 1st birthday. Chad and Andee had us over to their house for the party. Todd was the lucky one holding Gigi as the cake came out.
As you can see Rocco just wants to get right in there by that cake.
Gigi couldn't figure out that the yummy part wasn't the plate, it was on top of the plate. She kept eating the plate anyways.
Rocco had to show her how it's done and stuck his finger right in there. He is such a cute kid. I'm glad that I have the privilege of seeing my nieces and nephews often.

Todd and I sitting in front of our iMAC computer. It has a little camera built in called Photo Booth. We have loads of fun taking pictures with the different settings and features. It's almost a tradition now for our guests to take a few pictures too. I thought I would share some of these to show how much fun we have had with it.
This is my beautiful sister Heather with her two kids Jackson and Brooklyn. Jackson was amazed and kept saying "Oohh." They are just the cutest!

Football is over and soccer begins!

Todd's football team made it to the Championship game. Todd was very excited to find out that they were going to play in the indoor arena where the BSU Broncos practice! The team was ready and excited to play. Candice Root(her husband is on the team) and I watched on the sidelines along with the crowd that gathered there for Todd's team. We immediatly noticed how intimidating the other team was. I think they should check for steroids because they could hardly walk right with their bulging mucles getting in their way. It wasn't attractive at all they out did themselves. There were even a couple players that used to play for BSU. They were a competitive team but Todd's team held them pretty well. Todd was the quarterback and ran it in for a touchdown near the end of the game. It was a good game but unfortunatly they lost by 2. After that Todd and I headed off to go to his indoor soccer game. I know that I was tired just sitting on the sidelines so I can't imagine playing a football game and then a soccer game @ 10:40 p.m. on a week night! The night ended well with Todd's soccer team winning by 5. What a busy husband I have. I'm glad that he is an active man that loves his sports and loves me supporting him on the sidelines.

Halloween fun!

Can you guess what we are? We are a couple of punks, I knew you wouldn't get it. This is what we came up with after a long dispute of what we should be. We had a lot of great cute couple ideas but they all meant spending a lot of money and time. After a bit we finally went with this get up to attend our friends Hallween party. I thought that the wig would top it off but actualy it just looked rediculous : ) Todd's pants were very tight it was funny. Chance and Shea Hobbs had us over to their home and we had a blast eating the yummy food, playing games, and watching the Skeleton Key (I wouldn't recommend that one). All of us girls gathered in for a photo. As you can see I'm the red one on the left, Rachelle Hurd and her husband Scott were figure skaters(inspiration from Blades of Glory), Kira is a clown, Shea Hobbs is a Stepford wife, Candice Root and Jake were mimes and they looked the part, and Tracy Hadfield is a pregnant pumpkin. Well I'm not sure what you call it but that is no balloon that is her painted prego stomach! It looks so perfectly round, she had her baby two days later. I love dressing up like a goof and blaming it on Halloween. We had a blast.

No More Ring!

Todd is in intramural football this fall at BSU. They have a fun team this year and are undefeated. Just the other day Todd was throwing with some friends and jammed his ring finger and his middle finger. The middle knuckles swelled up pretty big. He tried to remove his wedding ring and it wouldn't budge! Yesterday morning you could see that his ring finger was bulging around his ring trying to swell bigger. The only answer was to get the ring removed. He went into the hospital and they were able to cut the ring off, thanks to Annette. I am sad that he doesn't have his original wedding ring but we will have to settle for a new one. As you can see in this picture Todd is sad too and he is holding up half of the ring. (sorry we don't have a new camera yet so this picture is from our computer. so it looks a little funny)

Is summer really over?

I am very disapointed that summer is over. Todd and I had a lot of fun memorieson vacations this summer. After our wedding we went to LA and San Deigo for the honeymoon. We went to as many beaches as we could but the sun wasn't shinning like we hoped. The beaches were super crowded but we enjoyed walking up and down looking at the scenery.
We also enjoyed going to the Padre's baseball game @ Padre's stadium. Ok I don't understand how to post the pictures where you want them so you will have to figure out which ones I'm talking about ; )
A few weeks after our honeymoon we were fortunate enough to be invited to go to Lake Powell with my sister-in-law's family. There were so many things to do down there and we couldn't believe the view we had. Thanks to Ben and Heidi and Heidi's fun parents we had a blast. About a month ago we were able to float down the Cabarton River by my parents cabin in Cascade. I can't wait to go again next year. We are going to miss the nice hot wheather we have had this summer. It is already time for sweaters and coats!

I finally did it! And it wasn't time consuming at all! I'm sure it will take up more of my time now that I have one. Here is a little update on the little Allen family. Todd is going to school @ BSU full time. Go Broncos! He is seeking a Business Finance degree and has two years left to go. I can't wait. He is also working in his "spare time" at the O.G.(Olive Garden). They work well around his school schedule. Oh and how can I forget football? He is actually playing inermural football right now down at BSU. It is drizzling a little outside today so I hope they all don't get sick, or Todd doesn't slip and break his wrist like last time.
As pour moi I am working full time as a bookkeeper at an excavation company. I have great benefits and they give me raises when I don't deserve one, but I still complain about it. It's not the best enviornemt to be in. Then after work I go to school two times a week. Todd and I are living in an apartment and we love it, except for paying the rent every month. I guess we will learn to love it.
